Another splendid Vets Guest Day took place on Wednesday 1st September. There was a large field with 100 names on the start sheet and everyone enjoyed the great condition the Old Course was in. The weather was kind, if a little chilly for the time of year, and held up enough to allow everyone to have lunch outside.
A splendid score of 47 was recorded by the winners, Mark Kenyon and guest David Wilkes. Second were brothers Martin and Tony Lawrence with Mark Jamison and guest Brian Jacobs taking 3rd place.
Lachie Deuchar took the bottle for Closest to the Pin and then was just pipped by guest David Clarke for the Longest Drive prize.
Individual winners were Jeremy McIlroy from Hankley Common (37 pts) and David Blackwood (42 pts).
All agreed that huge thanks were due to Jim Husain for the splendid organisation and the fine wine selection!
