Thirty-seven Vets and their guests enjoyed a splendid day of golf in glorious, warm sunshine. The Old Course was in excellent condition, and everyone was treated to a superb buffet after completing their rounds.

There were some outstanding scores on the day. Both Gordon O’Malley and his partner Peter Brooks, as well as Gary Thorpe and his partner Douglas Green, scored 44 points. However, Gordon and Peter edged ahead with a back nine of 22 points, just one better than Gary and Douglas’s, securing them the win. In third place, after a countback, were Lachie Deuchar and his partner Andrew Page with 43 points.

In an interesting twist, the very first shot on the 15th hole—hit by Hasan Abdat—won the longest drive, while the very last shot on the 6th—played by Stephen Bamford—won nearest the pin.
